The following is my report from the Transmission 3 party hosted on Saturday 25.11.2006 at T-Mobile Arena in Prague, Czech republic. You will find links to pictures and videos at the end of the spot. The title of Saturday party was Transmission 3 - Universal energy and the organizing agency United Music did quite a terrific job bringing over performers who are playing different styles of trance. Pure trance fans were attracted by the presence of Markus Schulz and M.I.K.E., while the wider audience welcomed Blank & Jones and also German producer and so-called-DJ ATB. He was a slight underdog and I wasn't expecting much from him as I can tell he's a good producer but this was the first time I was going to see him playing live.

The previous Transmission parties hosted such names as Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, DJ San, DJ Quintin. Markus Schulz and M.I.K.E were the only returning DJ's: the former presented his qualities at Transmission 2, the latter was playing at the first show. Some of them have recorded problems with audio-technics and speakers, others were complaining that Transmission is just not having enough visual effects, screens, lasers etc. The organizing agency had announced that this time the visitors will see something special. So let's see if they managed to keep it real.

We came to the arena shortly after 10pm (it was nice that they've opened a new entrance when we were coming, so we didnt have to wait). After that, we tried to look for the clothes room; so we went upstairs and spent 20 minutes in a line - just when we had our turn, the girl in clothes room told us to go somewhere else, that they're full. Geek! Went downstairs and spent another 20 minutes, hoping to master it better this time. Awful experience. So, because of this hassles, we didnt manage to come to the hall when DJ Ruby was spinning the tracks. OK, this is how I judge DJ's in detail:

• DJ Ruby - From what I've heard, he got the crowd ready for the following DJs. Can't rate, though.

• Markus Schulz - Average! I was hoping that Markus will be the star of the party, but he wasn't! He was alternating between energic trance and melodic trance and always when he succeeded to heat up the crowd he then filed some slow song to calm them down. From what I remember the biggest hits of his set were Aalto - Five, Dogzilla - Without you (Dub mix), Marco V - Any Better Or and Markus Schulz feat. Departure - Without You Near. 6/10

• M.I.K.E. - Despite playing early in the morning he chose to play elektro-trance. While about half of the crowd was already on their way home, we've decided to stay a bit longer. M.I.K.E. was a nice surprise (as usually) and after somehow "boring" 20 minutes he woke up the people again. I can't name the song, but as soon as the playlist appers on the trance forums, I will add it here as well. For nice fresh music, M.I.K.E. gets 7/10

1. various trance styles, nice sets by B&J and Markus Schulz
2. adequate volume, usually i can't hear for next 2 weeks, now its ok
3. nice visual effects by Visual Impossible when the DJ's were switching
4. no queue at the entrance
5. free ice cream for lucky ones

Cons

1. main star ATB dissapointed
2. too few lasers, lights, definitely not best effects ever as promised by UM
3. low basses early at the evening
4. too many commercials on screen
5. overpriced drinks (30 CZK for 0,25 l bottled water)

The point is to create as many rings inside the glass as possible (the one up here is showing 10 rings, I guess). I've also tried to participate in the contest but I wasn't succesful. No rings at all! On the contrary, my concentration was getting worse and worse with each try. How many can YOU do?

Today I've made a big progress as I have decided to tell you what I found out during my visits in the beloved USA! There are some things that I love and adore, but also some that I can't get or stand. Let's start with the good ones.

1/ Nice people. That was my first impression in USA. When I first came to States, 6/26/02, the customs officer's first question was "How are you, how was your flight?". Got it? Anywhere in the world the guy would just check your passport and let you go (if you're lucky). Not in America. I just love the way the people are trying to be nice all the time. Remember, Americans never get tired of trying to help other people.

2/ Fun. Hey, somebody told me, that all Americans will never grow up. They just act like children all the time, i mean that they will never stop joking! It's great that whenever youre with some American you won't get bored!

3/ Wealth. American dream - yeah!!! Has been attracting many immigrants for centuries and is definitely worth reaching it. As you arrive to USA from anywhere else on the planet you will recognize that Americans just have better cars, bigger malls, taller skyscrapers etc.

4/ Highways. Surfin' USA!! I love it, its just so cool to hit the highway, tune your favorite radio and stop for lunch at service plaza. In Europe, all your friends live 30 minutes from you, in USA, you're on the highway most of your life.

5/ Pride. As you come to USA from the Old continent, you will probably think "hey, whats the matter with all the flags? is it a world cup final today or wtf?". I say, nope. Americans just love to be Americans. I like the fact that they will never let their country down. Moreover, you should come and see the 4th of July celebrations!!!

6/ Parties. As I was working in Ohio in 2005 and in Pittsburgh in early 2006 summer I found out that American parties are just so funny! The guys in here are not ashamed to do crazy things so every party usually turns into a wild evening full of fun and laugh. So, if you want to have a great time, visit the Put-in-Bay island on Lake Erie or Ohiopyle House Café in Ohiopyle, PA. Unfortunately, my recent place, Coatesville, PA, appears as "no-parties-allowed" one. Hope it's gonna get better!!!

7/ Attitude to foreigners. Respect, they don't have an obssession with finding out where you are from. You may have a bloody accent, but they don't need to play racial taxonomy games. My colleague last year asked a new starter where she's from, then said "Sri Lanka - don't you mean Ceylon? Hahahahaha! Oh yes - is it Myanmar? Is it Burma? is it Myanmar? Oh nobody knows - we get that every day of the week!"

8/ Natural salesmen. That´s one thing I like about Americans. They can sell you anything, and that´s what makes them the greatest salesmen in the world. That reminds me kinda of our visit in the Cedar Point amusement park. Not only you pay $39 for the tickets, but right behind the gate there is a guy with camera to picture you for reasonable $5.99, right next to him is another one selling park T-shirts on sale for $14.99 and so on and on … Don't be surprised to get out of there with nothing but ID in your wallet.

9/ Great service anywhere. American entrepreneurs care about their customers. One for many, you get a glass of iced water when you sit down in a restaurant - without being asked or charged. And they dont make a fuss if you want tap water with your meal rather than bottled water.

10/ MOST OF ALL .. I like my American friends! I love you, Steve & Maria , Mark, Jess , Troy , Danielle, Danielle jr. , Meghan, Jerry, Stacey, John , Stephanie, Derek and Christine. Also thanks guys from Giant for helping me at my new job, i really love working with you. Thanks for being here with me!

Prague: October, September 19th - the day when real men show their strength! Time for heroes to wake up and prove their skills. Time for loose girls to join them. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the Beer rally! The second annual beer hunt started on one Wednesday evening, about two weeks ago. And because I missed the first one (which was last year) I had no idea whats going to happen. And neither had Honza, my fellow drinker who was later that night promoted to the team leader.

The rules of such beer rally are simple: teams of max. 7 drunkards, nine beers or shots for men, six for women. Only one beer or shot allowed at each pub. You get a stamp to your scoresheet from the waiters. First team one to complete the task wins the whole beer barrel! Our team called "Střízlíci" departed from the start point located at the college hallway at 8 pm that night. Our ambitions were high for as much as I know Honza is the drin-king of Prague. And he marked my words. With no pity or compassion he got us to the quick start at pub "U Sedmi vlků", where we had our first beer that night. Then "U Houdků" for another beer - Pilsner Urquell, my favourite!! Moving Later on to "Amsterdam" to ger more alcohol in our veins. I can still see clearly. Weiter nach pub "Nad Viktorkou" - where we stopped to get the Czech specialty, Czech rum called familiarly "Tuzemák". Thats four, almost halfway done in 25 minutes! We had no idea that by this time some other teams are already almost finished. Then to "Acropolis" for more beer. Then to another bar I name dont recall but I remember we met some co-drinking teams in there. Especially meeting those American girls was fun! We've also done some pics as we proceed in the game! You can see that the scoresheet card was almost filled - 6 out of nine stamps, only three more missing! But it took us a history to get them

3 pubs to go! Then we got lost (ask the team leader why). By that time, I was not knowing where we go. My father used to tell me not to mix any kinds alcohol together since I was a little child. Now I broke the rule. Oops. After some wondering we've found the pub "U dudáka" and we had a little rest. You can see what we had there at the top-most picture. Yes, it was the green shit called also "zelená"(just green) or "peppermintka"(peppermint liquor). It's the ecological shot and probably the cheapest shot on the menu anywhere. Then we spent long time in restaurant "U Tomáše Štítného" where we sat to the table with two older locals. They were so fucking drunk they would tell us everything about anything. So we had a little chat about the sex problems in a 30-year lasting marriage Fun! I recorded them with my cell phone, just for fun, because the quality is appaling. And, as the last difficulty during the rally we crawled to restaurant "Sklep" to have our last beer - after two and half hour! It's done! We got ourselves to the finish at Restaurant Morava and realized that most of the teams are already there.

The winners made it easily with only 6 shots needed to win - but who cares - it was fun ! We congratulate to the Spanish team called "Bianca" who got the trophy - hope the girls will enjoy it! Another cover version has hit the markets. Originally from Suzanne Vega and DNA is now remixed by Gabry Ponte and sang by the original voice of Suzanne Vega again and July B. (who is singing the rap parts). To be honest they did quite a good job, because the song reminds you of the original track pretty well.
